Innovative Eyewear adds Claude AI to Lucyd smart glasses

Innovative Eyewear, the Tekcapital portfolio company behind the Lucyd smart eyewear range, is launching a Claude AI integration across all Lucyd models next week, giving wearers voice access to Anthropic’s AI assistant through the Lucyd app.

Innovative Eyewear shares rose 7% shortly after the US open on Friday.

The Nasdaq-listed company, which manufactures smart glasses under the Lucyd, Lucyd Armor, Reebok, Eddie Bauer and Nautica brands, says the update brings ChatGPT and Claude together in a single interface, with users able to switch between models mid-conversation without losing context.

The company was the first to make ChatGPT available through smart eyewear.

A further update to the Claude functionality, expected in late Q3 2026, will allow users to query Claude hands-free with their phone locked and in their pocket, building on the company’s earlier ChatGPT integration.

The launch adds to a busy period for Innovative Eyewear, which recently reported a 71% rise in second-quarter sales, its twelfth consecutive quarter of growth, alongside a 345-store rollout with Canada’s FYihealth group and a 50-store test with a major US retailer due in September.

Harrison Gross, CEO of Innovative Eyewear, said: “This is an important step forward in our mission to make the most flexible and powerful AI glasses on the market. We have a pending patent on multi-AI access glasses, and we are bringing this incredible functionality to all our customers at no additional cost.”

“We envision that in the future, the Lucyd user can access several of the world’s most powerful AI models with a simple voice command, through its designer, lightweight, smart eyewear. We believe that this is the most practical way to expand human abilities through wearables. We look forward to continuing to Upgrade Your Eyewear® with useful smart features that make you more aware, knowledgeable, and more easily connected to the people and systems you care about.”

The company also announced on Friday the exercise of warrants that will generate around $3m in gross proceeds.
