Mila Resources has roughly doubled the gold resource at its Coffey deposit in Western Australia, as the explorer weighs the future development of its Kathleen Valley project.
The company said an updated JORC estimate put Coffey’s inferred mineral resource at 41,300 ounces of contained gold, up from 21,000 ounces reported in 2020.
The estimate, which sits in the lowest-confidence “inferred” category, draws on 44 drill holes totalling nearly 9,000 metres and also identified silver and zinc within the deposit.
Coffey is one of three gold targets at Kathleen Valley, in Western Australia’s Wiluna-Norseman belt, next to the high-grade Bellevue gold project.
Mila said the mineralised system could extend beyond the current resource envelope, including onto neighbouring ground, and pointed to two further untested targets as well as lithium-bearing pegmatites across the project as longer-term options.
The upgrade comes as Mila completes a strategic review of how to develop Kathleen Valley.
Shares were 6% higher at the time of writing.
