Concurrent Technologies has won $7m of production orders from a major US defence contractor, as a design project moves into manufacturing.
The computer products maker said the orders, for custom single-board computers, came from a leading US defence prime contractor and followed an earlier design contract.
The customer, which had historically designed such products in-house, chose Concurrent for the work and is now placing production orders, bringing the programme’s total value to $13.2m.
The orders were placed in two tranches of $2.8m in May, and $4.2m was just received for delivery across 2026 and 2027.
Miles Adcock, CEO of Concurrent Technologies, commented: “The joint strategic decision to transfer design from our customer to Concurrent has enabled us to secure these additional orders. Whilst the design work was valuable business in its own right, these orders demonstrate the wider benefits of that decision for both organisations. I expect defence primes to increasingly outsource their hardware design requirements over the long term, creating further opportunities for work of this nature.”
