Tekcapital said its portfolio company Guident has partnered with Florida State College at Jacksonville to set up a training programme for the autonomous vehicle industry.
The AIM-listed intellectual property investor said Guident, which specialises in remote monitoring and human-in-the-loop operation of self-driving vehicles, would help the college develop a course teaching students and transport professionals how to supervise and support autonomous mobility services.
As part of the tie-up, Guident has installed its GuideOn monitoring technology at the college’s downtown campus, its sixth such remote monitoring and control centre globally, and integrated the campus’s “Olli” autonomous shuttle into the training environment for hands-on learning.
Today’s announcement follows Guident’s recent three-year contract extension with a waste company to deploy ‘watchbot’ technology for surveillance.
“We are pleased to see Guident broaden its footprint with this collaboration. Establishing a sixth Remote Monitor and Control Center, in this instance embedded within a major educational institution, extends Guident’s operational reach while helping to build the trained workforce that supervised autonomy will require at scale,” said said Dr. Clifford Gross, Executive Chairman of Tekcapital.
“We anticipate continued revenue growth across mobility, robotics and public transportation markets, and following their successful fundraising of US$2 million in May 2026, Guident continues to work diligently towards a public listing in 2026, which we believe has the potential to further crystallize balance sheet value and broaden participation in its scale-up.”
