Innovative Eyewear shares soared in US trade on Monday after announcing a strategic alliance with HTC, the Taiwanese electronics manufacturer, to sell its VIVE Eagle smart eyewear range to American customers.
Under the deal, Innovative will offer the VIVE Eagle line through its Lucyd.co web store from September 2026. They will be the first pair of smart glasses Innovative Eyewear sells that weren’t manufactured by them.
Innovative Eyewear shares soared on the news, trading 60% higher going into the US close on Monday.
The glasses come with the company’s US-based prescription lens fulfilment, and prescription options will be available to American buyers from launch. Anyone ordering through Lucyd.co will also receive a free basic prescription upgrade.
The agreement gives Innovative exposure to the fast-growing market for AI camera glasses – something its own glasses don’t include – and adds a second Red Dot-winning frame to its Lucyd.co offering.
The VIVE Eagle pairs with HTC’s VIVE Connect app, which handles AI conversation recording, translation and camera controls, and supports hands-free voice activation.
HTC has built-in privacy safeguards that stop the glasses from recording when they are not being worn or when the indicator light is covered.
Some models carry adjustable nose prongs for a more flexible fit, and the range offers a wide volume range with high-fidelity audio.
Founded in 1997 and listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange, HTC is best known for its mobile devices and its VIVE virtual reality hardware and ecosystem.
Harrison Gross, CEO of Innovative Eyewear, commented on the launch, “We have a great deal of respect for HTC and their hand in the mobile computing revolution.”
“I am very excited to work with them to bring their impressive new camera smart eyewear to the US market. We believe the product is more capable, comfortable and user-friendly than other camera glasses on the market. We have extremely discerning quality standards for Lucyd.co, to the point that until now, every frame sold there has been developed and manufactured by our team.”
