When Seeing Machines issued a trading statement this week announcing surging revenues, we said that the company was one to keep an eye on.
This view was validated this morning when the technology company revealed it had set its sights on an entirely new application for its AI-powered driver-monitoring technology.
Seeing Machines has signed an advanced development contract with a global industrial technology company, taking its computer vision technology beyond its core transport-safety market and into factory robotics.
The AIM-listed company, best known for its driver monitoring systems, said the deal centres on applying its Perception Map technology, showcased at the CES show in January, to improve how people and machines work together across operational environments.
The initial programme will deliver a robotics proof-of-concept for a factory automation setting, which Seeing Machines said should lay the groundwork for further collaboration across industrial automation and robotics.
